Maurice Timothy Dews, 26, of northeast Washington, was arrested for setting the April 8 fire that sent five D.C. firefighters to the hospital, some with serious burns.

Dews set two more vacant home fires in the District, according to investigators – one on June 14, the other on July 5. Dews was also a suspect in fires dating back to 2007.

Additional charges against Dews may be forthcoming.
