Dominion Customers To See Increase In Fuel Rate

The average residential customer would see a monthly increase of $4.86 for 1,000 kilowatt hours of electricity, according to the plan approved by the Virginia Corporation Commission last week.

Dominion sought the increase to offset rising fuel prices and last year's harsher than normal summer and winter.

The fuel rate is the part of the electric bill that pays for fuel used to generate electricity and the purchase of power from the wholesale market.
