McDonnell Seeking To Assist Tornado Victims In Southwest Virginia

McDonnell said Friday that he has asked the agency to make low-interest loans available to homeowners, renters and businesses that had major damage from the April twisters.

If the request is approved, adjacent localities also would be eligible to apply for the loans.??

The governor said other areas in the state affected by the April storms do not meet SBA requirements for assistance.??The request comes after the Federal Emergency Management Agency rejected Virginia's appeal for aid.
