Metro Partners With Google To Share Transit Info

Public transportation riders can now use Google Maps to plan trips on Metro.

Metro General Manager Richard Sarles says the partnership would give customers an easier way to access transit information. He says there will be a seamless network to take riders from bus lines to Metro to MARC trains and Amtrak.

Google already had partnered with many other transit agencies, but Metro had been a holdout.

Beyond Metro, Google Transit carries schedules and routes for bus lines, including Montgomery County's Ride On bus, the D.C. Circulator, and Loudoun County Transit. The service is also available on mobile phones.
