
The final say rests with the State Corporation Commission, but Dominion is asking regulators to increase the amount it can recover for its fuel costs.
Virginia law allows companies to bill customers for the cost of fuel used to generate electricity and the power it buys to serve its customers.
Dominion is also asking regulators to approve a surcharge for the building of its Warren County Power Station near Front Royal, and for adjustments to help pay for replacing aging equipment and adding new infrastructure.
The company says the monthly bill for a typical customer would increase $12.76.
