Osama Bin Laden Is Dead, Officials Say

With the al-Qaeda leader's death, a new and dramatic moment has occurred in a long struggle that has seen the U.S. go to war first in Afghanistan — where al-Qaeda was based — and then in Iraq.

A crowd gathered outside the gates of the White House and could be heard singing the national anthem and chanting "USA!" WAMU's Patrick Madden was on the scene and had this report.
