Fire Truck Donation By Fenty Admin. Violated Procedure, Report Finds

The Office of the Inspector General started the investigation after a request by Council members Mary Cheh and Phil Mendelson.

Among the violations the report cites are improperly accepting gifts and transportation, and underestimating the value of the fire truck. The investigation also shows that multiple high-ranking executive officials did not follow proper procedure for disposing of Fire and EMS equipment or donating District property and misapplied contracting laws.
