VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) The Navy is investigating an incident in which a training missile part fell off a fighter jet and hit an unoccupied pickup truck in Virginia Beach. The vehicle sustained minimal damage and the aircraft wasn't damaged.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) The state Corporation Commission says its Bureau of Insurance is now offering assistance to consumers who speak little or no English. The agency has set up a telephone translation service to help non-English speakers. Virginia has about 180,000 of them.

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) The state Department of Historic Resources says it's approved 13 new historical highway markers. The agency says markers commemorating the War of 1812 are planned for Hampton and Dinwiddie County.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Federal and state agriculture officials say they're conducting another survey to figure out the extent of Virginia's emerald ash borer infestation. Officials say they plan to focus on central, southern and western Virginia this year. Approximately 5,500 traps will be set for the bugs.

PETERSBURG, Va. (AP) The commandant of the U.S. Army Quartermaster School at Fort Lee is getting a promotion. Colonel Gwen Bingham will be promoted to brigadier general at a ceremony this afternoon.
