
(March 28-April 3) FROM STREET TO FRIDGE Street art finds a home in "Fridge5", an exhibit of five highly contemporary visual artists showing at The Fridge gallery in Southeast Washington through Sunday. The group show features paintings and prints created specifically for The Fridge and an outdoor mural by all five artists.
(March 28-May 21) LIFE, LIBERTY, AND SMITH For a revolutionary musical, there's Liberty Smith at Ford's Theatre until late May. The title character weaves himself through the beginnings of our nation in song with friend George Washington, teacher Benjamin Franklin, and co-worker Paul Revere.
(March 29) DISTRESS IN THE DRC For a glimpse into the very serious struggles of another nation there's the "ABA Rule of Law Initiative's" short film on combating gender-based violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The documentary depicts the grave challenges faced by the survivors of sexual violence who seek justice. It screens Tuesday night at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe in Northwest Washington and is followed by a panel discussion.
