The Authority's board of directors is searching for a new CEO, and -- by all accounts -- that process has sunk into acrimony, complete with absentee board members, meetings held in secret, and even charges of racism.
Loudoun County Del. Joe May, chair of the Transportation Committee in the Virginia House, says the board's recent behavior "offends [his] sense of propriety." He held a special hearing Thursday to get more information.
Only one member of the board, former Rep. Tom Davis, showed up.
He says the Airports Authority is going through a transitional phase right now, and is looking to regain its footing.
