Lanier offered few other details of the investigation, which, she says, had been in the works for two months. The officers -- Guillermo Ortiz, Silvestre Bonilla and Dioni Fernandez -- thought they were buying stolen electronic equipment.

They were arrested during roll call at the Fourth District Police Station on Georgia Avenue.

It's the same police district that another officer, Jennifer Green, was arrested in a separate internal affairs sting last week. Green is accused of agreeing to monitor a police radio during a burglary.
