Corey Stewart says he will seek reelection as chairman this fall.

The Republican, known for his strong opposition to illegal immigration, has been board chair since 2007.

He says he can't focus on a run for Senate while running for county board chair, and if that ultimately puts him out of the running for the seat to be vacated by Sen. Jim Webb, so be it.

"I would not be unhappy if I continue to serve in my current position for another four years," he says.

So far one Independent, two Democrats, and one fellow Republican have entered the race for chairman.
