Wind Warning Issued For Metro Area

Play associated audio

On the Memorial Bridge, between Arlington Cemetery and the Lincoln Memorial, the wind is really strong. The Potomac is full of white caps, hundreds of mini waves with sloppy white tops, and not a single vessel to be seen because of the dangerous winds and water conditions.

The vehicles driving across the bridge, from Arlington to the District, are feeling the impact of the winds, especially when a heavy gust comes by and hits a car. You can see the drivers swerving to keep it under control.
