Metro Maintenance For Holiday Weekend

Play associated audio

On the Blue and Orange Lines, there will not be train service between the Metro Center and the L'Enfant Plaza Metrorail stations. The two stations in between -- Federal Triangle and Smithsonian -- will be closed until Tuesday morning. There will be shuttle bus service there, while Metro replaces track switches, repairs tunnel leaks and does maintenance on escalators and elevators.

On the Red Line this weekend, trains will be single-tracking at two locations: between the Shady Grove and the Twinbrook stations, and between the Rhode Island Avenue and New York Avenue Stations.

Regular service is expected to resume Tuesday morning.
