'Art Beat' With Sean Rameswaram

(Feb. 16-27) ULTRAVIOLET TO INFRARED Veteran painter Paul Reed has been manipulating colors to create abstract works for over 50 years. The Washingtonian is celebrated in Ultraviolet to Infrared at Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Va., through the end of the month.

(Feb. 16-March 4) WOVEN WITH HER BRUSH Tunisian-born artist Zohra Ben Hamida has lived something of a nomadic existence and she uses patterns and rich textures in her paintings to recreate the scenes of her past. "Woven with Her Brush" shows at The Palestine Center in Northwest Washington through early March.
