The idea of a mystery seems almost quaint these days, when you can Google the answer to pretty much anything. But in Cheverly, Md., mysterious sounds shake houses and wake up residents. While theories abound, nobody's been able to identify the cause.

**These residences have reported hearing booms between July 1, 2008, and Nov. 7, 2010.:**
