Georgetown University has confirmed that first-year student Michelle Konkoly accidentally fell from her fifth-floor residence hall room window just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
School officials are looking into the circumstances of the fall. Meanwhile, D.C. Police say Konkoly was trying to open a window when it happened.
The student was injured but was conscious when emergency crews arrived on scene. She was transported to George Washington Hospital where she was admitted in serious condition.
