Maryland residents can now skip the trip to the Motor Vehicle Administration to register their cars. The agency has new options to help drivers save time.
Beginning Monday, drivers will be able to register online, over the phone or at a self-service kiosk. Another option: registering at a licensed Tag and Title service, though that will cost an additional processing fee.
"Right now, 70 percent of those individuals who are available to have their transactions conducted this way already do it. So, this is for that 30 percent...a gentle nudge to get them to do it also," says MVA spokesperson Buel Young.
Young says drivers who have a flag or insurance violation on their record may still have to register their vehicle at an MVA office.
