
BALTIMORE (AP) The former dean of the University of Maryland law school has agreed to return more than $311,000 in unauthorized bonus payments that were uncovered by a state audit. Attorney General Douglas Gansler announced today that the state has reached a settlement with Karen Rothenberg.
ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) An Ellicott City man has more than just insurance claims to worry about after a car crashed into his home earlier this month. Police say the crash revealed that 44-year-old Richard Marriott had an indoor marijuana farm.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) A paraplegic driver sent to prison for negligent manslaughter in the deaths of a Hagerstown couple has been arrested after allegedly driving again. A condition of 31-year-old Matthew Meyer's probation was not to operate a motor vehicle in Maryland.
WHEATON, Md. (AP) Montgomery County Police are investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man as a homicide. Police say the victim's home in Wheaton was approached by two men about 1:30 yesterday afternoon.. One of the suspects shot the victim, and then the two fled.
ELKTON, Md. (AP) A judge has sentenced a woman who helped smuggle contraband into the Cecil County Detention Center to 18 months of probation. Twenty-four-year-old Cassie Jo Heath of Whiteford also was ordered to take part in a residential drug treatment program at sentencing on Monday.
