(Dec. 18-Jan.2) OY VEY IN A MANGER If you long for a little irreverence during the holidays, there's San Francisco's The Kinsey Sicks with Oy Vey in a Manger this weekend through the end of the year at Washington's Theater J. The nation’s premiere – and quite possibly sole -– "dragapella beauty-shop quartet" parodies holiday favorites with style and shtick.

(Dec. 18-19) ONE ARM WORKSHOP For more style, less shtick there's One Arm at Georgetown University's Davis Performing Arts Center. Tennessee Williams' sexually charged potboiler is workshopped in the District Saturday and Sunday before making its New York premiere this coming Spring.

(Dec. 18-June 12) NON-EXCLUSIONARY SEASON CELEBRATION While most of us are busy celebrating winter, Washington's Freer Gallery of Art takes the egalitarian approach to its celebrations of seasons. Chinese Landscapes opens Saturday and is the first of the museum's five-part Seasons series underscoring the importance of all four seasons in Chinese and Japanese art and culture.
