MoCo Unveils Snow Plow Tracking Web Site

Residents in Montgomery County, Md., will soon have a new way to determine whether it's safe for them to drive after snowstorms.
Tuesday afternoon, the county will unveil a new Web site that will show the progress of snow plows following a snowstorm. The site will track snow plow routes and show how quickly, and how effectively, the plows have cleared roads.
Last winter, following the two record snowstorms, many residents complained they had no idea whether the roads in their areas were clear or not, which led to some driving anyway and getting stuck on roads that had not been touched by plows.
The site goes online just as the first winter weather hits the region. Another inch of snow could fall throughout the day, with more possible this coming weekend.
