The Corcoran Gallery's latest exhibit, "Washington Color and Light," showcases the paintings and sculptures of the Washington Color School -- a group of D.C. artists who achieved renown in the 1950s and '60s for their simple painting techniques. Emily Friedman ventured behind the canvases of "Washington Color and Light" to find out what it takes to make a simple painting great.
