Former Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee will be joining the education transition team of Florida's Republican Governor-elect Rick Scott.
Scott made the announcement Thursday, calling Rhee a "nationally recognized education reformer." Scott says she will be part of a team that will help him find innovative ways to create a new education system for a new economy.
Rhee stepped down as schools chancellor in October, after a controvesial three-and-a-half-year term. During her tenure Rhee, ignited controversy for her efforts to reform D.C. schools.
Rhee's term as leader of D.C. Public Schools ended shortly after Mayor Adrian Fenty lost his reelection bid.
