The Republican challenger in Virginia's 11th Congressional District race has decided to concede.

Keith Fimian says after much discussion with friends and supporters he's decided not to pursue a recount.

Fimian also says his campaign will not further investigate possible discrepancies in the election results. He congratulated Democratic Congressman Gerry Connolly on his victory.

The election in the district was one of the closest in the nation. Over 220,000 votes were cast, and less than 1,000 votes separated the two candidates.
