Whistleblower Policy Reveals Porn On Headmaster's Laptop

Play associated audio

Alexandria Country Day School has a policy that allows whistleblowers to offer anonymous tips to administrators. A tip prompted an executive committee of the school's board of trustees to inspect the laptop issued to Headmaster Alexander "Exie" Harvey last week.

David Ayres, president of the board, says the computer had been used to send or receive pornography. Over the weekend, the board asked for his resignation.

Ayers says the tightly knit community is disturbed by the events, but adds he is pleased the whistleblower policy allowed administrators to handle the situation swiftly.

Michael Pope also reports for Northern Virginia's Connection Newspapers.
