
They haven't received much publicity, but three constitutional amendments will be on the ballot in Virginia tomorrow.
The first would allow localities to expand property tax relief to homeowners who are disabled or over 65. The second would create a tax exemption for the principal residence of a veteran, or his or her surviving spouse, if the veteran has a service-connected disability. The third would expand the size of the state's rainy-day fund.
Election officials say they're prepared for voters to stay at the polls a little longer to read the amendments before casting a vote.
