The entire block of Madison Avenue in the Brightwood neighborhood of Northwest D.C. has been cordoned off as the authorities continue to investigate this afternoon's triple shooting.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier says two juveniles and one adult were shot around 3:45 in a home on the 500 block of Madison Ave--one of them was killed.

Lanier says the alleged gunman then fled the scene, carjacked two separate cars--the second was a MetroAccess vehicle. The MetroAccess vehicle had one person inside of it, but this person later escaped unharmed.

Later the MetroAccess vehicle crashed while it was being pursued by an off-duty police officer and the person was taken into custody. This all happened on Kenilworth Avenue in Prince George's County, Md.
