Fernando Asturizaga, 44, was arrested in Montpelier, Vt., yesterday and extradited to Montgomery County. Police have accused him of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl starting in 1999.

The girl was a student at a private school in Prince George's County where Asturizaga worked. Police say he first assaulted the girl when he babysat for her at her residence in Silver Spring in 1999. A second alleged incident occurred later in Bethesda.

Asturizaga faces two charges of rape and six charges of second-degree sex offense.
