Maryland's Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) appears to be opening up his lead over Republican former Gov. Bob Ehrlich in their gubernatorial rematch.
A Washington Post poll published this morning says 54 percent of those likely to vote support O'Malley, while 40 percent say they support Ehrlich. The poll has a 3 percent margin of error.
The percentage of voters with an unfavorable view of Ehrlich grew by 10 percentage points since a poll last month.
More likely voters said they trust O'Malley to do a better job with the economy and taxes than Ehrlich.
Another recent poll, published by the Baltimore Sun, shows O'Malley leading Ehrlich 52 percent to 38 percent, with a 3.5 percent margin of error.
