Participants in the fundraiser for breast cancer research plan to walk 60 miles over the next three days. They'll trek from Washington to Germantown, Md., and back. Each participant has raised an average of $3,000 for the cause.

The walk will wrap-up at 5 p.m. Sunday on the National Mall.

Cheering stations are being set up along the route.

Several streets around Nationals Park are closed until 1 p.m. today for the opening ceremony. On Sunday, streets around the National Mall will be closed from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
