Ocean City Council Candidate Residency Questioned

Borchini is campaigning to win one of three city council seats up for grabs in the election this month.

But, even though he claims Ocean City is his home, he's also listed addresses in Virginia and D.C. on his sworn affidavit when he filed for city council last month. Local politicians say he's never at his 94th Street home, and they believe he should be disqualified from the race on the grounds that he doesn't actually live in Ocean City.

"I'm up to about 18 attempts to locate him there at that address. I really did go there to meet him and see what kind of person he was,and I've yet to locate him," Councilman Doug Cymek says.

Yet, the council voted to allow Borchini to stay in the race in order to avoid dragging the election into a court battle or a possible do-over.

Cymek says he wants to take a serious look at the verbiage in the town law as soon as the election is over.
