A new documentary called "Breakfast in Washington" airs tonight on public television. It's based on visits to more than two-dozen restaurants in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Places serve up everything from down-home diner grub to go-getter power breakfasts. The premise of the film is that D.C. has become the new "it" place for breakfast.

WAMU's Rebecca Sheir recently sat down for breakfast with writer and producer Simon Epstein, to find out more.
