A bus accident on I-270 is under investigation. Authorities say one person has died after the commercial charter bus carrying parents and children fell 45 feet off a skyramp and landed below along the Interstate 270.

Montgomery County fire department spokesman Captain Oscar Garcia says crews were dispatched about 4 p.m. this afternoon. He says there were at least 10 to 15 people evaluated at the scene. He says crews had to extricate four people who were trapped inside the bus. He says two of them have life-threatening injuries.

The bus is sitting upright just over a jersey wall from a lane of I-270. Dozens of fire and rescue personnel are on the scene.
