D.C. Public Schools have won a Digital Education Achievement Award for their website. It's part of their effort to reach more families in the District. During the last academic year, the DCPS website got 6,311,519 page views. That's mainly because of it's revamped website.

In addition to school calendars, reports and job postings, the site also now includes individual school profiles. With a few clicks you can find out how well a school does in standardized tests, whether it's extracurricular activities include tae kwan do or urban dance and what it's facilities are like: for example, whether a school houses a science lab or music room.

DCPS also tweets, posts videos on YouTube and has a facebook page. It's part of an effort to reach out to the community and help people understand the school system better.
