(August 4-29) SCENESTERS Northwest D.C.'s Foundry Gallery melts together two shows for a refined double-feature. The exhibit Dupont Circle Scenes features the work of local artists that capture the neighborhood aesthetic, while Community of Fire handles wood fired pottery - carefully - while inviting visitors to learn about this burning process. Both shows run through the end of August.

(August 4) HEY MARSEILLES WITH VANDAVEER?AND WOODS Meanwhile, there's no wood burning tonight at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in downtown D.C., as Ravenna Woods takes the stage at 8, joined by local alt-rock songsmith Vandaveer and the Pacific Northwest's seven-piece chamber pop group Hey Marseilles.

(August 4) SCHOOL OF ROCK If alt-rock and chamber pop are anathema, you can turn it up to eleven with the School of Rock All Stars, tonight at 7:30 at Bourbon Street in Baltimore. The touring troupe of diverse student talent presents All Stars "Live Aid Remade", celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Live Aid concerts. Benefits from the show go to Music for Relief and their mission to provide aid in Haiti.
