Slime in soda nozzles and roaches on counter tops. Not exactly information meant to whet your appetite. But now that the Department of Health is posting inspection results from the last three years on it's website, you can also find out whether employees at your favorite restaurant wash their hands, have clean counter space and properly reheat food.

Dr. Kimberly Leonard is with the D.C. Department of Health. She says restaurants are excited about this online tool as well.

"It lets the public know that their restaurant is in compliance, is meeting the standard the department of health has put in place," she says. "So I think it's a great thing."

She says information from the 5,000 inspections conducted each year have always been available, but now this information will be updated daily.
