Maryland Police Arrest 17-Year-Old Escapee

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) A 17-year-old boy who escaped from the Green Ridge Youth Center in western Maryland has been arrested near Gaithersburg.

Maryland State Police arrested Edwin Cortez on Wednesday without incident at his girlfriend's house in Montgomery County. He reportedly fled Sunday in a car he stole near the youth detention center.
