RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Starting July 20, Amtrak is adding a daily round-trip service between Richmond and Washington.
That means a total of five trains will depart Richmond daily for Washington, with six return departures in the afternoon and evening.
The new service is sponsored by the state of Virginia as part of a three-year pilot program to offer more transportation options for residents.
The new Richmond-to-D.C. service has stops in Ashland, Fredericksburg, Quantico, Woodbridge and Alexandria.
