By Greg Peppers

Former Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich has chosen Mary Kane to be his running mate in his bid to get back to Annapolis and the governor's office.

The former Republican Governor made the announcement on his Facebook page.

"I need a strong Lt. Governor, a capable Lt. Governor, an exciting Lt. Governor who will help us lead Maryland to a new era. So after a lot of analysis and a lot of energy and a lot of speculation I've chosen, I have found that partner, that Maryland partner to help us turn Maryland around and that partner is Mary Kane," says Ehrlich.

Kane wasted no time criticizing the O'Malley administration.

"This election is very important, you raised taxes the very first year this administration that's now in power came in," says Kane.

Kane served as Ehrlich's secretary of state. She is from Montgomery county, a key battleground in the governor's race because it has a lot of potential swing voters.
