(May 24) NAVY BRASS PLAY Navy brass shines under the spotlight at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage tonight at 6 p.m. Elevating our esprit de corps is the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quintet, performing a selection of works from the 16th through 20th centuries, along with some original compositions.

(May 24) ON THE WATERFRONT If you could have been a contender, you'll surely identify with Marlon Brando's Terry Malloy in the 1954 film On The Waterfront, screening tonight at 7 at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, as the ex-boxer turned longshoreman gets mixed up in a mess of corruption and murder in a movie that won eight Oscars.

(May 24-June 9) EBB AND FLOW And a trio of female fellows at the Hamiltonian Gallery mine the exchange of energy in binary relationships during a trio of exhibits on U Street Northwest. "Inside and outside," "construction and deconstruction" and other "two-fers" are explored in painting, live performance and textiles through June 9th.
