Another Mother's Day has passed but as commentator Jennifer Lockwood-Shabat notes, the nation's struggling economy continues to take a toll on many American mothers, especially low-income, single ones.

Lockwoord-Shabat is the Interim Co-president and Vice President of Programs at Washington Area Women's Foundation.
