By Matt Bush

Maryland Senator Barbara Mikulski is kicking off her re-election campaign this weekend.

Mikulski is seeking a fifth-term, and if she wins, she will become the longest serving female senator in history. She has scheduled stops today in western Maryland, and tomorrow in Silver Spring.

Two Democrats are opposing her in the party primary, while ten Republicans have announced they will seek the GOP nomination.

Most political analysts believe Mikulski will have no problem winning her fifth term. In 2004, she won re-election by 31 percentage points, defeating Republican state senator E.J. Pipkin.
