When Glover isn't starring in movies such as "Lethal Weapon" and "The Color Purple," he dabbles in labor activism.

"Workers are standing up," he says, "and they say we've had enough."

This afternoon, Glover is protesting against Sodexho, a food-service company headquartered in Montgomery County. He says Sodexho has "made it impossible for men and women who work hard every day to make a living, a decent living, by the deplorably low wages [it] pays."

On the sidewalk in front of the Sodexho building, almost 100 members of the Service Employees International Union, or SEIU, hold signs and shout slogans.

A few yards away, more than 40 Montgomery County police officers stand by and watch.

"This is a nice day. It's a beautiful day, it's sunny," Glover says. "But it sure is a nice day to get arrested."

In a symbolic act, several of the protesters - Glover included - stand in Sodexho's parking lot and refuse to leave. They're promptly handcuffed and led to a police van.

A police spokesperson says Glover and the others are being charged with trespassing. He says they could face a $1,000 fine or 90 days in jail.
