(April 17-18) HOOFING IT FOR HUNGER The Deborah Riley Dance Projects cap off a week-long food drive benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank with some "eatertainment" tomorrow and Sunday nights at Dance Place in Northeast D.C. The company re-imagines their performance space in Chew on This, creating a timely commentary on world hunger, the food industry and nutrition.

(April 17-25) EXTRAORDINARY JOE OPERA And the sweet science of one extraordinary Joe gets the operatic treatment at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center in College Park, Maryland. Starting this Saturday, you can catch the premiere of Shadowboxer, an opera based on the life of world heavyweight boxing champion Joe Louis. The visually stimulating, jazz-infused tribute to "The Brown Bomber" plays through April 25th.
