It's down to the wire and today people are rushing to the nearest post office or professional tax preparer to file their taxes.
It's the last day, no more putting it off, and anxious people in long lines at area post offices today might be wondering why they waited until the last minute to file.
It's a civic duty, although some people, like the Tea partiers rallying today at Freedom Plaza, believe taxes are an unfair burden on the American people.
Never-the-less, for right now, you just have to do it.
And local businesses are rewarding people.
Many restaurants are offering lunch, dinner and drink specials. Places such as Cinnabon and Maggie-Moos are handing out free sweet treats. Dairy Queen is parking its 'blizzard truck' outside the IRS building and Starbucks has free coffee.
Past Tense Yoga in Mt. Pleasant is offering discount classes today and tomorrow, giving people the chance to breathe deep after they file.
