ESSEX, Md. (AP) A Census Bureau spokesman says a powdery substance inside an envelope at a data processing center outside Baltimore has been found to be harmless. One person was taken to a hospital after the powder was discovered Saturday with anxiety-related symptoms.
WASHINGTON (AP) Teacher salaries in the Washington area jumped by more than 40 percent over the past decade. The Washington Examiner reports that teachers in the Maryland suburbs have enjoyed the largest pay raises in the past 10 years.
