ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Gov. O'Malley says he opposes a Senate plan to gradually shift some teacher pension costs to counties in coming years. He says he doesn't believe the counties are in any better position to support any of the costs than the state is.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) An Anne Arundel County fire official says the pilot of a small plane survived after crash landing in the South River near Edgewater. Fire officials say the plane crashed near Lee Airport between the Solomon Island Road and Riva Road bridges today.
