
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Less than eight hours after Congress passed sweeping health care reforms, Virginia's attorney general has announced a legal challenge against it. Republican Ken Cuccinelli said early today he will file a court challenge against what he and other conservatives decry as an unconstitutional overreach of federal authority.
LOUISA, Va. (AP) One of the two nuclear reactors at Dominion Virginia Power's North Anna power station has been shut down for a scheduled refueling. The Richmond utility says North Anna's Unit 2 was powered down over the weekend. It's likely to remain out of service for about a month, the typical time it takes to refuel and perform routine maintenance.
BEDFORD, Va. (AP) A former high school administrator accused of killing his estranged wife is finally expected to go to trial today. Thirty-nine-year-old Wesley Earnest's case has been delayed four times.
HAMPTON, Va. (AP) All inmates at the Hampton City Jail will undergo biometric eye scans. The information will go into a database that includes fingerprints, photographs and other data.
