Most of the region's postal service is up and running again, though it may be a few days before everyone gets their mail.

The postal service was almost caught up on deliveries after the snowstorm this past weekend when it was hit again by Wednesday's storm.

Patrick Murphy, with the northern Virginia district, says no mail was delivered yesterday but "most of our post offices are open right now in the northern Virginia area; we hope to be caught up between today and tomorrow," he says.

Half of D.C.'s post offices remain closed today, and about a third of offices in Maryland's Montgomery and Prince George's counties are closed, as employees are having difficulty getting to work. Postal workers are asking that people clear paths to their mailboxes, otherwise they may not be able to make deliveries.
