It's another weekend of delays for Metro riders who use the northwest end of the red line in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Trains will be sharing a single track between the Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore stations. Work crews will replace rail fasteners that stabilize the tracks and make tunnel repairs.

Metro spokesman Steven Taubenkibel says red line passengers can expect weekend track work along that stretch through March. It's part of a multi-year red line rehabilitation project scheduled to run through 2013.

The next phase of the project will be between the Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood stations in the district in late spring or summer.
